What is SIP Trunking? What are SIP Trunks? A SIP trunk is a service offered by a supplier such as Tpad that permits businesses that have a Telephone PBX to use Voice-over-IP (VoIP), outside the enterprise network by using the Internet connection. The SIP Trunk enables connection to the standard PSTN and Mobile telephone networks via your Internet connection thus eliminating the need for expensive multiple ISDN lines and also benefiting from lower cost calls.

When moving to over to SIP, Tpad will manage the transition away from your current line infrastructure to the Tpad network. This process requires Tpad to move (Port) your current inbound numbers away form your current line provider. Once done your inbound calls can be routed to any Tpad enabled site. The added benefit of this is greater flexibility for disaster recovery and added resilience.

Routing calls over SIP is significantly cheaper than standard teleco rates. In Many circumstances Tpad has enabled companies to save at least 50% on their current call spend.

Tpad will assess your current infrastructure and make the appropriate recommendations. This sometimes involves a site visit and would also require an audit of your current telephony bills to that the correct infrastructure recommendations and call plan can be presented.

In moving customers to SIP, we do most of the work off line and agree a time and a date with you install Tpad. The process is well constructed and designed to minimise the impact on your day to day business.
