Chasing the Sun
As the sun set that photographer was moving down from the top of the highest sand dunes in Death Valley. He was working the scene, and time was tight. The sun had set, and the shadows were blending. I too was working the area shooting from about 300m from this guy. I felt the need to include the sky, mountains, and shrubs in the foreground to create a layered effect to frame up the photographer and large dunes.
Foot prints indicated the trampling of the day's visitors. The increasing winds and clouds indicated a new weather front was about to roll in and perhaps the strong winds will erase the footprints. Thus, creating a Tabula Rasa rewarding photographers at sunrise.
