My Little House Of Horror
I bought this Venus Flytrap from Home Depot thinking I could trap some ants at my house. To my dismay, it didn't do anything to the ants. As you can see, one of the ants has escaped from the leaf trap. I then looked up Wikipedia and found this description of the trap trigger mechanism:
"Two trigger hairs must be touched in succession within 20 seconds of each other or one hair touched twice in rapid succession, whereupon the lobes of the trap will snap shut, typically in about one-tenth of a second."
I am hoping to capture the trap in action. I think I might have to get more ants to it.
