Cape Kidnappers
Legend says Captain Cook sent out his crew with a Tahitian boy to meet with the aboriginal Maori. The Tahitian boy was supposed to act as an interpreter. The Maori thought the Tahitian boy looked like them and decided to capture him. The boy was able to escape unharmed. Because of this incident, Cook decided to name this place as such.
If you zoom in and look toward the left on top of the cliff, there is a colony of gannets. This is their nesting ground. It 's beautiful place. Sometimes it reminds me of our Point Reyes National Seashore.
