My ancestors back from my paternal great grandmother Ellen Mary Ricketts were all from these villages in Purbeck: Wareham, Wool, East Stoke, Winfrith Newburgh, East Knighton and East Lulworth. It is perhaps no surpise that I have always been drawn here, unknowingly.
My 3x great grandparents Edmund Ricketts and Mary Anna Battrick moved to Brighton in the 1860s. For interest the primary names in the line are Ricketts, Battrick, Runyard and Galton. I've traced them back so far to 1691.
