The former living quarters (back left) for workers at La Soula hydro now operates as a mountain refuge.
At the time it was wardened by a Rugby Mad Frenchman who spent too much time telling us how 'les Rosbifs" were going to be thumped by les Bleus" in the 1999 Rugby World Cup.
We humoured the bloke and he was alright really because he served up the most massive pile of cassoulet for dinner, and had a plentiful stock of biere.
