Rail Race Level 4_Box

Christmas Present for my 13 y.o son. It looked relatively straight forward from the picture on the box, but I was realistic to think a good degree of adult input would be required despite it saying age 10+ on the box .... but .... in reality, it was much harder/awkward to build than I thought and there was no way my 13-y.o would have managed it on it's own especially as we'd not built a level 1-3 version before hand.

In the end I pretty much spent the best part of 2-days on it and even then, I simplified the design somewhat - a double loop-the-loop instead of a triple, fewer coils on the spiral and other similar adjustments. Still we did get all 4x balls working at the same time, and it is quite impressive when on the go - very smooth action.

However, it does need constant tweaking though, especially the see-saw pieces. I think gravity makes the longer unsuppoted lengths sag a little, needing re-adjustment and tuning. Good fun all the same.

If you're struggling to make sense of the quite poor instructions (and plain wrong in places) I hope these pic's help at least a little.
