Eastern State Penitentiary

If you ever make it to Philadelphia, I highly recommend a visit to ESP - fantastic place to explore, lots of history. It was built on principles of reform rather than punishment, although keeping prisoners in isolation may not be what we today would consider helping to "reform" them.
