Bells of Steel and Fire

In April 1945 the Garnisonskirche burned down when Potsdam was hit by British bombers; the bells of its famous Glockenspiel went down with the church. This is the new carillon that was installed in 1991, close to the old location of the garrison church. Some would love the church to be rebuilt as well, others see it as a symbol of Prussian militarism and oppose a reconstruction.
