Female great horned owl keeping watch on a squirrel near her nest

A quick visit to one of my local great horned owl nests. I had hoped the owlets would be more visible but they are still pretty tucked away in the nest cavity. The parents though were quite visible and gave me some nice shots. Taken in Thornton, Colorado.
