Birthday Cake

I was originally planning to make three cakes - one for each of the birthdayers, but halfway through decided it would be fun to make one, big, multi-flavored layer cake. And it worked, for the most part, despite looking like it came out of a Dr. Seuss book.

 

Chocolate, red velvet and vanilla separated by layers of frosting. I thought we'd have too much left over, but at the end of the night it was almost gone.
