Hermit Thrush, Cape May Point, Cape May Co., NJ; the dull back and gray-washed flanks suggest that this bird is referable to the western subspecies euborius of the Northern subspecies group; the brighter (and more easterly) faxoni might be the expected subspecies at this location, but virtually no work has been conducted on the occurrence pattern of subspecies here
