Ely Cathedral

Following on from my decade long project in which I used a different film camera each week, 522 in total, I have relaxed the pace and set myself a monthly camera project each year. My dad was born 100 years ago in 1924, he collected old cameras and died age 91 in 2015. In this centenary year I've decided to use one of his favourite cameras each month. June's camera is Leica IIf. The film is Orwo NP54 ISO 100 B&W, developed in Rodinal for 9 mins at 20 degrees.

There are clearly problems with the focal plane shutter, I was aware while using it that the shutter was not firing at times, and when I developed the film I could see that on almost every frame the speed of travel of the shutter curtains was not constant, and in fact it even stopped briefly sometimes. Just part of the trials and tribulations of using old cameras! I have attempted to reduce the effects of the shutter by by applying gradients in post-processing.
