This is the printer, as removed from the instrument. Of course it needs repairs.
The printer consists of a pair of electromechanical counters. A 4 digit one on the left is incremented by a 1Hz pulse and counts the seconds from the start of the run. It is printed (smaller platen presses the paper against it) when the slope sense board detects the top of the peak. On the right is a 7 digits counter used to accumulate the integral of the peak, it is printed at the end of the peak.
Each counter consists of a number of modules, electrically connected. Carry from one decade to the next is electrical, a switch in the counter module triggers the solenoid in the next one.
