A portrait session with Sister Mary Catherine (1 of 3)

I met Sister Mary Catherine while Beverley and I were having lunch in Carmel. She is a Discalced Nun of the Carmelite Monastery. It’s the first time I ever spoke with a Catholic Nun, and we hit it off pretty well, chatting about everything. If she wasn’t dressed in her traditional Nun’s Habit, it would be hard to believe I was conversing with a Catholic Nun. I asked if I could take her portrait sometime, and she agreed. A few weeks later Sister Mary Catherine invited Beverley and I to the Carmelite Monastery for a photo session. It was also our first time inside a Monastery, an experience we will treasure forever. Sometimes I feel God looks down upon me shaking his head, thinking; I don’t know what I’m going to do with this kid. I quietly reflected back of my photo session with Sister Mary as I prepared this portrait to post; With all the turmoil and sadness going on in our World Today…somewhere there is peace, beauty and happiness.
