The alarm never went off.

 

Mr Fox's foxy intuition saved the day.

 

He did have to get up in the middle of the night to turn the alarm off, but Mrs PB was not awoken from her slumber, so total disaster was averted.

 

When she woke up she set about neutralizing the threat.

 

She took the battery out the clock...
