Plantation Pineapple Pendant foyer chandelier
An original burnished brass ceiling pendant Victorian / Colonial Revival period piece.
"In my restoration / refurbishing research I was surprised to discover that my regal hallway light fixture, hanging form above at the top of the staircase, had a history and was once considered a valuable symbol of southern hospitality: the Plantation Pineapple Pendant chandelier was traditionally placed near the entrance of southern manor homes as an elegant way to welcome guests.
With its established name in history I thought it was worthy to update, so I installed a new electrical socket, bought a decorative bulb then restored it to current standards by rewiring it and mounting it to the ceiling myself; I also discovered that the emanating warm amber glow was useful in detering outdoor flying pests from entering the home." ~Tomitheos
