froggy face
"This frog was a good model, he was very friendly yet so fragile, slippery and small ; ) no more than an inch and half which is approximately 4 cm. The difference between frogs and toads is that frogs have smooth, wet skin while toads have dry, warty skin. Their breeding occurs in the month of May when the female releases 20,000 eggs in a string that are fertilized externally by the male as they emerge. These hatch into little black tadpoles with gold speckles which then morph into toadlets by July." ~Tomitheos

fun facts:
Toads produce a toxin in the glands behind the eyes which is only harmful if it is ingested or rubbed into the eyes but like frogs (inset picture) they are very valuable as controllers of insect pests. Because of their bad flavor, toads are not a popular food among predators. Even their eggs and tadpoles are toxic.
