Fun Facts:
Halloween is a festival of the hauntingly dead and somewhat evil spirits celebrated as an annual holiday tonight October 31st and believed to be similar yet also a polar-opposite celebration of the Eastern Christian Orthodox 'All Saints Day' in June.
The ancient Celts believed that the border between this world and the spirit-world became thin on Halloween (Samhain) allowing good and bad spirits to pass through.
It is believed that the need to ward-off harmful spirits led to the wearing of costumes, festive face make-up and masks.
Fall is a time of death for leaves and summer flowers therefore because the festive timing is in and around Harvest time the ripening pumpkin was the perfect candidate to use for a Halloween decoration, otherwise known as the jack o' lantern
