Boarding the 505 (Kodachrome)

From my Kodachrome film archives: The 505 TTC "Red Rocket" streetcar at Dundas and College Streets, Toronto, 1977.

 

The iconic President's Conference Car (PCC), or "Red Rocket," as Torontonians referred to them, were a fixture on Toronto's streets from 1938 to the 1980s. As they were retired, many ended up in places like San Francisco, where their Toronto heritage was recently saluted.
