Sorcerer's Apprentice
So far, I've posted the Master Sorcerer and the Witch. Here is the Sorcerer's Apprentice.
Have a fun and spooky Halloween.
Strobist Info:
Shot made with Canon EOS Rebel T4i. One doesn't need the most expensive camera on the block to make photos like this.
Fill Light: Einstein 640 in Paul C. Buff soft box camera right.
Skull illuminated with 10 degree gridded snoot on Einstein 640.
Skull eye socket glow from Lumopro LP160 shooting through back of skull. Even at minimum power, the eyes were too bright so I folded several layers of tissue paper over the flash to act as a "neutral" density filter. Not really neutral in a technical sense, but it served to block enough light to give a subtle orange glow to the eyes.
Face illuminated by Einstein 640 with CTO gel to mimic the candle light.
Separation light for head and shoulder high, right, and to the rear of subject. It is snooted to avoid spill on the background and flare in the lens.
Exposure f13 1/20 sec to give proper exposure to candle flame.
Einstein flashes triggered using PocketWizard Plus III as transmitter and PowerMC2 receivers.
Exposure metered with Sekonic L-308s.
See the BTS photo below to view my lighting setup.
