Buena Vista Street Grand Opening
As anyone who has experienced it knows, Buena Vista Street is amazing. It's a great opening act to the new Disney California Adventure, and it's really hard to imagine that this used to be Sunshine Plaza.
At the end of Buena Vista Street is Carthay Circle Theatre, and just before that is "Storytellers," the new statue of Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse. Carthay Circle houses a pretty impressive restaurant, with an equally impressive lounge. We spent a lot of time there this trip, and I can't wait to head there again.
For the Buena Vista Street grand opening party, there were tons of searchlights all over the park, including a good dozen or so on top of Carthay Circle Theatre. As we were there to enjoy the party, I almost didn't stop to take this photo, as I assumed the searchlights were a permanent fixture. I couldn't help myself, though, so I stopped to capture it. I'm glad I did, as they were gone by the next day...
If you've never visited Disneyland Resort, it's time to plan a visit. It's firing on all cylinders right now and the overall package, I think, is better than Walt Disney World, which we also love.
