Mýrdalsjökull Glacier

Whilst on our roadtrip in Iceland we opted for the opportunity to take a hike up the Mýrdalsjökull glacier. A slippery trail round a frozen lake presented us with the deep blue ice of the glacier itself. It was only after we learned the Katla volcano resides under this ice cap and is usually triggered by the Eyjafjallajökull volcano that erupted just a few years earlier...
