I started building the rocks and the beach last year as a base for some castle ruins. Now I’ve finally been reunited with my bricks and decided to finish it, but the idea changed a bit. The landscape looked exotic enough to put an Aztec temple on top of it instead.
It was surprisingly difficult to reflect the characteristics of Aztec architecture. I wanted to showcase some interesting techniques and patterns, but very soon it started to look like baroque. After all, I decided to keep the temple as simple as possible.
