Start/Stop? The Question My Garmin is Always Posing to Me; Sometimes "Start" Wins; Sometimes "Stop" Wins 4/365 20 December 2012

During a pause in shoveling alternating forkfuls of turkey and mashed potatoes down my gullet during my family's bounteous Thanksgiving meal this year, I, having run a PR Gobble Jog 10-K that morning, told my family that if I were ever to die during or immediately after running that NO ONE is to tearfully say at my funeral, "He died doing what he loved." My little bucket of ashes will rise from the dead and personally choke any family who so says.

I don't love running.

I took a needed break from running after the Gobble Jog. Then I got the flu. Yesterday, I ran for the first time in eighteen days. It was good to run again. I don't love running, but it is good to run.

"Some run because they are running from something, some run towards something as to some great goal, others just have the runs." Tiebos
