12 Mile Creek project drawing #11

Here's #11 transcribed and tightened up on the big sheet. It's a milestone as this is the first drawing to be horizontally neighbouring another.

Quite a challenge this one - Besides it being winter here, I'm really scraping the bottom as far as suitable scenes go. Suitable scenes are ones that have a nice progression of compositional elements and therefore a nice variety of shapes. The challenge now is to find those that are accessible. Accessible means less than an hours walk from where I park.

It's mid-winter now... cold in the forest. This spot had a bit of sun, but the location of #12 is in a ravine with no sun. It's a struggle to keep warm fingers there after 3 hrs.

I'm resisting the suggestion to take photos still - I think I might use it as assistance later on, but I'm still finding my way around the shapes, and getting lost in the branches... I think once I've earned my wings in that department I might be open to a bit of photo ref - especially if studies go over the 6 hr mark on site.

I found a new path down to the creek that's not too far from the car... a bit of creek that I'd thought was previously accessible only with wading... Not been fully down that track yet, so I'm excited to get back and explore that option.

Summer will be a bit easier I think... plus making faster drawings would help!
