Red Roots (like ropes!) of the dreadful 'Mile A Minute' ! P1220207
*Very aggressive & highly invasive - a trailing herbaceous annual vine with barbed stems and triangular leaves ' see comment of the invasion scope at the backwoods bordering the backyard.
* suspecting the herbaceous roots didn't died with the 1st frost as noted on information found on the net - here are the rope-like red stem roots with the big one about 0.5+" thick (Nothing like this last year) . One good thing is the red stem root can be easily detected through the clearing in the unberbrush of the woods and relatively easy to yank out (have to watch out for the small leftover herbaceous roots till eradicated ).
* The vines are forming buds now so good timing pulling for the next couple of weeks! Just get rid of this awful vines if they appear in your yard, don't wait!

(* Spent days pulling these vines last year after ignoring them for a few years. This year they're still coming back strong though not as much as in 2018 but with strong red roots this year.....)
* wiki uses: (In traditional Chinese medicine, Persicaria perfoliata is known as gangbangui (Chinese: 杠板归; pinyin: gāngbǎngūi), and is thought to be useful for various remedies in herbal medicine. It can also be used as a fiber or used in rope making)
