Island In The Stream
This shot is one of the main reasons I went to the Faroe Islands. I mean, just look at it. Amazing. The island is called Kunoy and it's long and thin and you're just looking at the end of it. The shot is taken from the mountain above Klaksvik which I think is called Klakkur on the island of Bordoy. We are looking across Klakksteinur to Urðafjall on Kunoy which is probably 700m high. A fisheye is the only way to get the whole view in. Makes Big Bend seem a little unimpressive by comparison.
For the only the second time on this trip I saw a bit of blue sky just after the rain (it then rained again after taking this shot, but who cares when the views are this good). This was my 2nd trip up this peak as first time around it was dull and I didn't get a good enough composition, and I couldn't miss the patchy sunlight this time. Well worth the climb. As an aside, the Olympus OM-D is a superb camera. I've left the pro Canon gear in the car every day so far (though it did make the previous waterfall shot). The OM-D is excellent, small, light and a dream travel camera.
