Unavailable You – Interventions in the Leipzig city forest

"The central effort of modernity is to enlarge its own range: the world is to be made economically and technically available, scientifically recognisable and controllable, legally calculable, politically taxable and at the same time controllable and experienceable in everyday practice. This available world, however, is a silenced world with which there is no more dialogue. Against this progressive alienation of man and the world stands "resonance", as a sounding, unpredictable relationship with a non-available world. Resonance occurs when we engage with what is foreign and irritating, with all that is beyond our controlling range. The outcome of this process cannot be predicted or planned, which is why the event of resonance always has a moment of unavailability. "1 (from Hartmut Rosa: Unverfügbarkeit, 2019)
