Mountain Hares August 2017

Mountain hares photographed in the Scottish Highlands late August 2017 when the hills were blanketed in purple heather. Photographing and spending time with these wonderful animals is always the priority of my highlands trips, it's a privilege to be able to sit so close and watch them go about their regular routine (at this time of year mostly sleeping and grooming).
