San Jacinto Monument

I attended the reenactment of the Battle at San Jacinto in 2014 for the first time. This event is extremely well presented and a great reason to visit the battlegrounds. Transportation was made easy with the large number of buses that ran from nearly parking lots. There were a large number of vendors with a historical focus, and grounds on which the reenactment is held is perfectly manicured for viewing the event.

The San Jacinto Monument is just minutes from Houston, Texas.

Save the date indeed! For 2015, the reenactment will be held Saturday, April 18.

Save the date! San Jacinto Day Festival 2015 to be held on Saturday, April 18th.

Booming cannons, cracking musket fire, thundering hooves and desperate battle cries resound across the San Jacinto Battleground as hundreds of history reenactors recreate the events leading up to Texas winning its independence at the decisive Battle of San Jacinto.
