Panels? We don't need no stinking panels
It absolutely puzzled me WHY would one install just a partial panel between the cabinet and the dishwasher space. Of course, I've decided to fix it and install the rest. And the reason unearthed itself immediately - there were braces on the inner surface of cabinet risers, complete with MDF leftovers. Clearly, the panel was ripped out, clumsily. Given the fact that previous house owner built the cabinets shortly before selling the house and custom fit the old dishwasher, the only time when the panel could've been ripped out was when the new one was being installed. Of course we discovered this only when it fell out...
