Sad Weevil, Pt. 2 - _TNY_8843S3
I initially mistook this quite small weevil on a bramble leaf for a speck of dirt. Really close inspection through the lens revealed it as a small weevil and looking at it on the monitor, I have managed to identify it as a Cionus hortulanus.
It wasn't moving around much, enabling me to get three shots with different focus and then stack them together using Zerene Stacker.
To me, it looks quite sad in this shot - perhaps because it is on a bramble leaf and not on a leaf of a mullein which I understand is what they prefer. I know that my mother-in-law have that plant in a different part of her garden.
Part 1 is also a focus stack, but from two exposures, here: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/52209367346/
For a shot of that mullein which is a very beautiful flower, have a look here: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/24894854177/
