Flames - _TNY_2987
My mother-in-law noticed this one in her kitchen - a place where neither her nor it wanted it to be and asked me to take it out.
I got an idea and put it on one of the blue globe-thistles (Echinops bannaticus) beneath the porch and I must say it made for a sweet backdrop.
The beetle itself is a rough-haired lagria beetle (Lagria hirta), a species which belong to the darkling beetles even if this particular species isn't that dark.
Is it just me or does the thistle look like the purple flames on a gas stove here?
