Quick Wings - _TNY_3443
The green rose chafer (Cetonia aurata) or sometimes just rose chafer is a rather clumsy flier, but they have one cool trick which most beetles don't have.
They can open their flight wings without first opening the elytra like the others have to do so when you get in close to photograph them and they decide you are too close - they just pop the flight wings out on the sides and takes off.
This one was chilling on a leaf in Tyresta National Park in late July (of 2025).
