Tyresta Thistles - _TNY_3229

Today's trip to Åva-Stensjödal (on July 23rd of 2025) had two principal components: lots and lots of demoiselles (as seen in the next photo), but als a whole slew of pretty bugs on thistles and woolly burdock.

While prickly to you and me, the bugs love these purple flowers and I was walking around between the plants (trying not to brush my arms against the tall stinging nettles) and shot all sorts of fun bugs.

Here is one of the more common this day - a large skipper (Ochlodes sylvanus) - which was using its long probocis to drink some of the thistle nectar which given the attention the flowers were getting must be something special.
