Lavender Lover - _TNY_3047
I made a nice discovery in my mother-in-law's English lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) - the four-banded flower bees (Anthophora quadrimaculata) are nuts about it and fly from flower to flower to flower getting a small sip of nectar each time. Unfortunately, this means that they only stay at each flower for about half a second which became a bit of a challenge when shooting.
Today I figured out the settings to use and have crouched down at the lavender patch several times. Unfortunately (not really) it is very hot here right now so I couldn't stay out in the sun for too long each time, but I still got a whole bunch of shots which, even if they aren't super close, still came out alright.
