Out in the Water - _TNY_2887
Getting this shot of the dung fly Hydromyza livens was a bit of a surprise catch - but also quite tricky. The green it is sitting on is a lily pad, about 15 meter / 50 feet out in the water from the beach at lake Öjesjön.
Unfortunately it was a bit windy so the lily pad was bobbing a bit with the waves, but I got a couple of useable shots.
This species lays its eggs on the lily pad and then the larvae produce long mines in the leaf which are visible from the top.
