Non-triangular Triangle - _TNY_2121
Having breakfast on the porch at my mom's summer house, I noticed this clover hay moth (Hypsopygia costalis) resting on a white beam above me. This species is also known as the gold triangle and looking at this photo, the gold part is understandable with the orange colour, but the "triangle part makes less sense.
Looking at this (www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/53261759142/) shot of a different specimen shot two years earlier (almost to the day) it is however easier to understand the name, right?
The Swedish name, "högstjärtsmott" instead translates into High tail moth which makes perfect sense when you look at this one.
