Readily Available - _TNY_1865

Last time we visited my mom at her summer house in Värmdö, Sweden, I was sort of complaining to my wife that there weren't many bugs to shoot. She immediately came up with the perfect solution and reminded me to have a look in the garden compost bin.

 

And when I did so, I found no less than three marbled rose-chafers (Protaetia marmorata) in there gorging themselves on an old banana.

 

I chose one, picked it up and then went down to some nice cornflowers (Centauena cyanus) and put the chafer on one of them and it made for a nice and punchy background, no?
