Perched Skimmer, Pt. 2 - _TNY_3472
The male black-tailed skimmer (Orthetrum cancellatum) has these gorgeously turquoise-blue eyes which can look quite different depending on the light.
This one and a whole bunch of his brothers and sisters were skimming over the water as I was enjoying the spectacularily good weather of mid-July of 2021 at my mom's summer house (in Värmdö, Sweden) by swimming with my wife and son.
Every now and then they landed and a couple of those times I managed to get close enough to get a photo.
