Handsome Guy, Pt. 2 - _TNY_0340
The way to tell the difference between a male and a female Mylotes cattleheart (Parides eurimedes) is to look at the dorsal side of the wings. Both sexes have a reddish-pink marking on the wings, but while the female have a somewhat smaller white marking, the males like this one have a larger one which iw a bit more towards mint-green.
Mister Cattleheart here had landed on the floor at the Haga Ocean butterfly house so I set up my tripod and got my shots - including part 1 which was at 2:1 magnification here: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/54086313880/
A shot of it on the floor showing the other side of the wings next to my tripod and camera can be found here: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/54588711114/
