Escape by Water - _TNY_1650
I found this unusually dark copper peacock beetle (Elaphrus cupreus) and an equally dark buddy on a small sandbank next to the Stenbäcken creek in Tyresta National Park, Sweden on an early June (of 2025) visit.
After managing a couple (like here: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/54571029008/) photos of it on the gravel, this one decided it didn't want to be photographed any more and ran for the water. I managed this shot while dipping the front of the diffuser into the water, but then the stream took it and it floated away on the surface of the water.
