Proper Use of Hair Product - _TNY_1580

I looked into the wonderfully purple flower on this wood cranesbill (Geranium sylvaticum) hoping to find and photograph a species of small weevil who feed on those. And as a matter of fact, I actually did just that - but I also found this pollen beetle (Byturus ochraceus) which if you look closely at it, looks like it has applied some serious hair product to get all that orange hair to stay down in those cool wavy patterns.

While slightly larger than the weevils I was looking for, this one was still only about 4 mm / .16" in length.
