Too Late, Pt. 2 - _TNY_2511
While this might not be the most exciting photo I've taken, it's still a new species so I kind of have to post it.
This is a male spot-winged drone fly (Eristalis rupium) hanging out on a leaf in my mother-in-law's garden outside Härnösand, Sweden.
Initially, I thought this was the very similar spring drone fly (Eristalis picea), but as the name indicates, that one is an early season species and this was shot on June 30th so E. rupium is a better fit.
