Somehow Stationary, Pt. 3 - _TNY_4236
I was actually looking for tiny jumping spiders on the side of the garage when I noticed something substantially larger.
This butterfly had landed on the wall and was not looking to move in the first place. I of course didn't complain and proceeded to take a bunch of photos of it which came out quite nicely.
Unfortunately, this one wasn't interested at all in opening its wings so I was never able to see the dorsal side of the wings which is why I am unsure which exact species this is. There are two quite similar species, the large wall brown (Lasiommata maera) and the northern wall brown (Lasiommata petropolitana) and I can't say definitively which it is - though I am leaning towards the latter as it was fairly small.
