First One, Pt. 2 - _TNY_2859
The green-banded peacock (Papilio palinurus), also known as the emerald swallowtail and emerald peacock, is probably one of my favourite species at the butterfly house with their intense green colour.
This one, which was the first one I ever saw, was a bit different in colour as it had a distincly colder hue than the other ones I've seen since. Compare it to this one: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/52917346784/
Since this specimen looks quite old and worn, it is possible that it is just a natural shift in colour that come with age though.
