The Good Mom, Pt. 2 - _TNY_9982

The common earwig (Forficula auricularia) is, unlike most other insects, a very caring mother and will stay and protect her young ones against predators.

 

This particular one (I have no idea if it is a male or female) was haning out in the middle of the gravel entrance road to the Näsudden nature reserve outsid Åkersberga north of Stockholm, Sweden on a late August visit.
