Tiny Pirate, Pt. 3 - _TNY_9723
My wife and I were cleaning my mother-in-law's garden pond back in August. Or technically, she was using a net on a stick to scoop up algae and dropping it in a bucket and I sat on my butt next to it and sorted out any small animals which happened to get caught and threw them back into the pond.
One such find was this pirate otter spider (Pirata piraticus), a wolf spider species which is very much at home by (and on) water.
This one walked around on my fingers for a little while and right here it began cleaning its pedipalps so I got some snaps of it before it went back into the pond again.
