Sort of Named after Leaves, Pt. 2 - _TNY_4139

Here's another butterfly from my early 2020 visit to the Haga Ocean butterfly house.

 

This time it is a female malachite (Siproeta stelenes), a species named after the mineral (ie also called malachite) which has a similar green colour as the markings on the wings.

 

It doesn't stop there though - the mineral is in turn named after its silmilarity to the leaves of the mallow (Malva sp.)
